I just heard about this AMAZING new thing called Trash the Dress.
Let’s begin with an example:
Here are some pretty cool descriptions:
“A trash the dress shoot is a great concept that stems from monogamy and the idea that you’ll only need your dress once so you might as well get your full use out of it. Brides spend all this money on a beautiful gown only to wear it once then retire it to a closet never to be enjoyed again. The TTD idea lets the couple get a little more use out of the gown than the traditional idea of bagging it up and storing it in the closet. Of course, the dress doesn’t have to be ruined, but no worries if it gets a little dirty (dry cleaning will take out just about everything anyway).” Said here.
“Just about everyone is talking about the new buzz word, “Trash the dress” or “TTD.” It is a rather new concept whereas the bride seeks liberation from trashing her wedding dress. Thus far there have been a few reasons floating around why one would trash her wedding dress:
- To show her husband how committed she is because she will never need it again
- To trash the reminder of what was considered a stressful day
- Never need it again – food for moths” Said here.
I want to do this! Not catch myself on fire, but you know, something daring and beautiful. I need to talk to Adam about it when he gets home. I don’t want to destroy my dress, but I do want to be free with it. I love Adam, and I don’t plan on ever doing anything else but being married to him and loving him and making him dinner almost every night. What a great symbol! I encourage you to find more people doing this, the pictures are breathtaking.
